We Mourn the Loss of Oya BAŞAK

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved professor, the cherished soul of our department, our one and only Oya Başak.

Professor Oya Başak, who chaired our department for 21 years, touched the lives of thousands of students, became synonymous with Boğaziçi University, and stood as one of its true cornerstones.

We will keep her memory alive through her profound love of literature and the arts, her inspiring teaching, her vibrant personality, and—above all—her resolute integrity and principled stance.

May she rest in light.
